A valid UAE tax invoice must include: the words Tax Invoice, supplier name and TRN, customer name and address, invoice date and sequential number, description of goods or services, quantity and unit price, taxable amount, VAT rate and VAT amount, and total amount including VAT.
What is a simplified tax invoice in UAE?+
A simplified tax invoice may be issued for transactions under AED 10,000 to unregistered customers. It requires fewer details than a full tax invoice — supplier name, TRN, date, description, total with VAT, and VAT rate. Most retail receipts qualify as simplified invoices.
How long must UAE businesses keep invoices?+
UAE businesses must retain tax invoices and related documents for a minimum of 5 years after the end of the tax period they relate to. For real estate transactions the retention period is 15 years. Digital storage is accepted by the FTA.
